About
Chris Parker is a board-certified rheumatologist. He completed his undergraduate at Benedictine College and later earned his doctorate at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, graduating summa cum laude. Upon completing his internship and residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, he went on to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Walter Reed Institute of Research where he completed his two fellowships, one specializing in rheumatology and the other in medical research respectively.
Dr. Parker’s years of professional experience includes Assistant Chief of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Service and Assistant Program Director of the Transitional Program at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He is currently the Chief of Rheumatology at Austin Diagnostic Clinic.
Published, his areas of interest for medical research include gout, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory eye diseases. Dr. Parker has given many presentations at events such as the Rheumatology Management Conference, the Western States Osteopathic Annual Scientific Convention, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians Annual Session and Scientific Assembly. He has also received many recognitions, including Valedictorian of his medical school class, “Most Outstanding Resident,” “Teacher of the Year” by the Department of Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center, and “Texas Super Doctor” for 10 years straight.
Away from work, Dr. Parker is a lifelong athlete, focusing his efforts on strength training and powerlifting.
