Starting the week of 9/23
There are two ways to get the COVID Vaccine at ADC:
- In-office with an appointment during a scheduled appointment with your provider
- Schedule a visit for a COVID vaccine
- We will only be administering COVID vaccines in the IM North Clinic and Westlake, Family Practice at Cedar Bend, Leander, Steiner Ranch, Circle C and Pediatrics at Cedar Bend, Leander and Circle C. The only specialty offices that will be administering is OB GYN and the Travel clinic.
CDC Recommendations:
- Everyone aged 6 months and older should receive the new COVID-19 vaccine for the 2024-2025 season.
Vaccines approved by CDC:
- Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax vaccines (Moderna and Novavax can be found in the community at local pharmacies)
Austin Diagnostic Clinic Formulation offered
- ADC Clinic will only be offering the 2024-2025 Pfizer vaccine at our clinic. The exception maybe for TVFC Program: Patients under the Tots for Shots Texas Vaccine for Children (TVFC) program may receive the 2024-2025 Moderna vaccine.
Important Notes:
The CDC does not prefer one vaccine formulation over the other; both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are interchangeable.
Your vaccination history does not affect the choice between Pfizer and Moderna formulations.
Patients that receive Pfizer formulation:
Pfizer 2024-2025 Formula
- Age 6 month - 4 years will receive 3 doses
- Age 5 - 11 years old will receive 1 dose
Pfizer (Comirnaty) 2024-2025 Formula
- Age 12 years and older will receive 1 dose
If the patient is immunocompromised, an additional vaccine dose will be required.
At this time, there is NO recommendation for a booster COVID vaccine with the 2024-2025 formula, including the 65 year and older population.
