Flu season is here. Spread the word, not the flu!

3 ways to get your flu shot:

  • In-office with an appointment during a scheduled appointment with your provider
  • Schedule a visit for a flu vaccine injection
  • Walk-in clinic available at the Travel Clinic

Flu formulations available this season

  • Flucelvax QIV Flu Vaccine is recommended for patients 18 – 64 years of age
    • Children 6 months through 8 years getting a flu vaccine for the first time, and those who have only previously gotten one dose of flu vaccine, should get two doses of vaccine. The first dose should be given as soon as vaccine becomes available.
    • If your child previously got two doses of flu vaccine (at any time), he only needs one dose of flu vaccine this season.
  • VFC is providing Flucelvax QIV Flu Vaccine for patients 6 months – 18 years of age
    • Children 6 months through 8 years getting a flu vaccine for the first time, and those who have only previously gotten one dose of flu vaccine, should get two doses of vaccine. The first dose should be given as soon as vaccine becomes available.
    • If your child previously got two doses of flu vaccine (at any time), he only needs one dose of flu vaccine this season.
  • Fluad QIV Flu Vaccines is available for patients 65 years and older
    • All formulations are Quadrivalent and preservative free

  • Free with most insurance plans
  • Pediatric self–pay is $13.75
  • Adult self–pay:
    • $35 Flucelvax
    • $35 Fluad

Flu signs and symptoms usually come on suddenly. People who are sick with flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:

  • Fever*/feeling feverish or chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.

*It's important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.
