Jill Nichols, MD

About

Dr. Nichols is an Austin native. She has been caring for children since she started working as a babysitter when she was in middle school, so it was no surprise to find that pediatrics was her true calling during medical school. After attending Harvard University as an undergraduate, Dr. Nichols attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, then completed her pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been practicing pediatrics at the ADC main location since her return to Austin in 1996.

Dr. Nichols enjoys caring for patients of all ages and feels that being a pediatrician means helping keep her patients healthy and providing guidance to them and their families through all stages of childhood and adolescence. She enjoys helping families negotiate behavioral and developmental challenges and is comfortable managing a variety of chronic childhood conditions like asthma, allergies, and ADHD.

Dr. Nichols has served on the medical executive committee, including a term as Chief of Pediatrics at North Austin Medical Center as well as President of the Central Texas Pediatric Physicians Alliance (currently known as the Greater Austin Pediatric Society). She has also served on the medical executive committee of Dell Children's Medical Center. She was featured in Texas Monthly Magazine and named a Texas Monthly Super Doctor in 2020. Dr. Nichols is conversationally fluent in Spanish and has some comprehension/conversational ability in French and Italian.

Now that all of her children have moved into young adulthood, Dr. Nichols enjoys spending time with her three dogs. Her hobbies include playing tennis and reading.
