About
Dr. Worrel was first drawn to pediatrics as a teenager watching his five nephews grow and develop. His interest in pediatrics matured in medical school, residency, and fellowship as he learned more about the development of children and adolescents. He provides compassionate and comprehensive care to children of all ages, from birth to adulthood. Dr. Worrel views the medical care of pediatric and adolescent patients to be a team effort with the family, allowing adolescents to accept more responsibility for their care as they mature.
Dr. Worrel earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee as well as a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Worrel is board certified in Pediatrics and was awarded a ‘Top Doc’ of Austin recognition in 2020, featured in Texas Monthly.
A lifelong swimmer, Dr. Worrel continues to train and compete in master’s swimming. He loves the outdoors and enjoys trading good music suggestions with his son and daughter.
